So, I recently started a new job, and as part of that job I went to the High Line to take some pictures. The High Line is this public space built on an old abandoned elevated train track...pretty cool. I just got an iPhone a few days ago, so this gave me a chance to play around with some apps, specifically the Hipstamatic. I really like the way these turned out, but I always wonder...can I really call anything affected by digital editing "art"? I don't know that these would have been any good without the app...but whatevz, this iPhone is awesome.

my face
I'm doing a small animation project for someone, which is pretty exciting because a) it's working on something creative and b) I got a Wacom tablet, so I can do more art stuff on my computer. Woo! I'm going to do rotoscoping, meaning that I'm going to trace every frame of a live action video, so I did some design concepts using my own face. BEHOLD:
I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Stay tuned for the finished product!

things that i love, part one
I figured after the slight negativity of the post yesterday, I'd post some things I love. Here are some photos I took on my Diana camera in London when I studied abroad there almost a year and a half ago. I can't wait to go back someday - I miss London so much. Favorite city in the world.
For my 3 or so readers out there, I will be posting drawings soon. Hopefully. Woo.

gothic
So, I'm in New York now! Woo! So I've done some drawings. Here's something that I did because I wanted to play around with some fancy Japanese tape I bought:
And, as usual, I'm obsessed with Gothic Lolita. I really wanted to try something a bit more ambitious, and use a really difficult perspective. I'm pretty sure the proportions are all off, but I tried my best! I feel like the scan made the final copy way cheesy and the subtlety of the color is totally lost, but I swear, it looks less cheesy in real life:
Here's the first rough I did in my sketchbook:
Then something more refined, which I tested color on:
Well, that's it. Latezzz
